Over the past week we’ve had a period of settled weather bringing clear skies and high temperatures to many areas of the UK. The temperature peaked at 29.9°C at Gravesend in Kenton Saturday 1 October. This marked a new record for October, and a number of other new maximum temperature records were provisionally set as detailed below.
