Met Office in the Media: 5 July 2010

There is still a good deal of interest in the ongoing settled weather across England and Wales and it’s causes. The Daily Mail explored The Weather divide between north and south on Saturday. Further reports today in various media outlets, including the Daily Telegraph, Metro and Daily Mail report we will continue to see fine weather for several weeks to come. You can stay fully up to date with the weather forecast for up to a month ahead on the Met Office website.  However the weather has not been fine everywhere with Sottish media, including The Herald reporting on the severe weather and flooding that affected parts of Scotland over the weekend.

The Press Association declares that Warm Wimbledon weather hits bookies as this years Championships saw no rain interuptions, the first since 1995. The Met Office had two forecasters on-site at Wimbledon to provide up-to-the-minute weather information. Rather than rain this year, though it was hot temperatures and light levels that the organisers were most interested in.
